Phenolic HPL (High-pressure laminates) is a material of excellent quality due to its functional and aesthetic potential.
It consists of layers of kraft paper impregnated with thermosetting resins and one or more surface layers of decorative paper impregnated with aminoplastic resins, pressed at high pressure and high temperatures. One or both sides can have a decorative surface.
Its characteristics of resistance to wear and steam, hygiene, and versatility in cutting and assembly, make it the ideal material for the construction of self-supporting furnishing systems. It is also ideal for all applications where it is necessary to combine resistance and design. Stratified HPL is the most qualitatively reliable material and the richest in aesthetic features for the creation of contemporary design complements in general.
Traditional walls can be replaced by agile walls in HPL phenolic stratified that make the most of the use of space by minimizing maintenance. In addition, the Stratified HPL maintains its aesthetic and performance characteristics unaltered for the entire life cycle. It consists internally of layers of cellulosic fibers impregnated with phenolic resins and on the surface by one or more layers of cellulosic fibers with an aesthetic function, impregnated with thermosetting resins and bonded together by a high-pressure process in compliance with the EN 438: 2005 – Part 4 standard.
Natural variations in temperature and humidity do not compromise the properties of the HPL laminate and have no effect on the appearance and properties of the panel which undergoes a moderate dimensional variation: it contracts in the presence of low humidity and expands in the presence of high humidity, for this is recommended to air-condition the material at the place of application. The particular compactness of the Stratified HPL ensures an excellent combination of mechanical characteristics such as resistance to bending, traction, compression, and impact. The homogeneity and high density of the panels guarantee high resistance to extraction of the fastening elements.
